Sub Par Noel Wins Pro Am

Noel Quinn continued his great form in Pro Am tournaments this week, when he won the West Middlesex Pro Am. The only pro to break par, Noel won the tournament by 2 clear shots.

But it wasn't plain sailing, the top 3 all finished with a flourish, with runner up, Rob Leonard, eagling the last to post a level par target for all the players. Noel stood at 1 over after 15 holes, but finished birdie birdie birdie to clinch the title by 2 strokes from Rob.

Noel is the ideal Pro Am Partner

Noel Quinn is proving to be the professional partner all the amateurs want to play with on the East Region PGA Pro Am circuit. With a string of top 30 finishes already, Noel recently finished joint 6th at the Knebworth Pro Am with a very impressive 2 under par score of 69. Standing at 1 over par after 14 holes, Noel birdied 3 of the last 4 holes to post the impressive score.

Noel will be in action again shortly in the Colchester Pro Am. Watch this space....

Noel Makes 1st Europro Tour Cut

Noel Quinn, playing in just his second PGA Europro Tour event comfortably made the cut in the Castle Dargan Irish Masters. Playing in his parent's native Ireland, Noel shot level par and 1 over to make the cut comfortably. His final round 77 contained 5 birdies, which put Noel in a tie for 53rd place, but most importantly, gave him his first Europro Tour cut

Noel Gains Europro Tour Card

Noel Quinn from Whipsnade Park Golf Club sailed through pre-qualifying for the Europro Tour at The Player's Club in Bristol. Playing the par 3s particularly well (all 3 of Noel's birdies came at the short holes), Noel finished on 8 over for 2 rounds, and finished in 6th place.

Final Qualifying was a different story, with 240 players vying for places on the tour, everyone knew that lmost half of the field would not make it.

Opening rounds of 75 and 74 put Noel well in the hunt for a place on the tour, but a 5 over par start on the front 9 on the final day was not what Noel was looking for. He needed a great back 9, the half that was playing tougher for all competitors.

Noel dug deep and made 5 rock solid pars to start. A slight blip with a bogey on the 15th hole was not enough to put Noel off. solid ball striking and quality putting brought him home in 3 pars, which was enough to finish 117th and clinch a coveted place on the tour. Congratulations!

Noel & Bridie retain Ballito Trophy

Defending Champions Noel & Bridie Quinn managed to retain their Ballito Trophy in 2010 despite some tough opposition.

Noel's one under par 68 was enough to secure second place amongst the professionals, but the team's combined total of 6 under par pipped the field by a shot.

Noel is hoping to continue his trophy-retaining form in 2010 when he attempts to win back to back Order of Merit titles.

Victory in Final Event Secures Order of Merit

Prior to the final event of the Herts PGA Alliance season, Noel held a virtually unassailable lead in the Order of Merit.

Noel still needed a good finish in the Uniroyale Quaiche event at Letchworth to secure the title. He teamed up with mother Bridie and Bedfordshire Ladies County Champion, Sally Shayler for the competition. Letchworth's greens were in superb condtition, belying the weather and the time of year, and scoring was low.

Noel's Whipsnade team just lost out on countback for 2nd place, but his individual score, a flawless 2 under par score of 69, secured joint 1st place, and gave him a runaway victory in the Order of Merit.

This affords Noel automatic qualification for all East Region events in 2010.

Helen Fitzgerald, who has sponsored Noel in a number of events this season was delighted. "Its wonderful to see Noel playing so well, not just in one or two events, but consistently throughout the season. He thoroughly deserves his Order of Merit title."

Solid Par Performance in Presidents retains Order of Merit Lead

Noel Quinn kept his eye firmly on the target of the Herts PGA Alliance Order of Merit with a solid level par 70 at the President's Trophy at Harpenden Golf Club.

Noel currently holds a 600 point lead in the Order of Merit with just 2 events to go. Winning the Order of Merit would exempt Noel from pre-qualifying in the East Region events in 2010, an honour that eluded Noel by just one position.

Closest rival, Peter Cherry, gained a bit of ground with a flawless 67 and a share of the trophy, so Noel must work hard for the last 2 events.

Noel Rallies for 3rd Place in Championships

Noel Quinn's 3 over par start to the Herts PGA Alliance Championship on his home course left him several shots off the pace, but he rallied in the second round. His flawless 2 under par 71 saw him clamber up the leader board to a share of third place and pick up valuable Order of Merit ranking points.

Noel currently leads the Order of Merit.

Noel Back on Top after Winning Stan Tomlin

Noel and his trusty 2 iron had a blistering round on home soil at the Stan Tomlin Trophy. Noel made the most of benign conditions, posting a 5 under par 68 score to take the title by 3 shots.

He also helped his team mates to the team trophy ensuring a clean sweep of the prizes for the home side.

Noel's performance earned him valuable Order of Merit points, and he is now back on the top spot.

Noel Pipped into 2nd at Old Fold Manor

Noel Quinn's 2 over par in The Herts Stag tournament at Old Fold Manor on 19th October looked like it was going to be enough for him to hold onto his slender lead in the Herts PGA Alliance Order of Merit, but Peter Cherry, out in the last group, posted a 1 over 72 to sneak just 90 points ahead. With 5 events remaining this season, there is still everything left to play for.
